Nice hotel, great collaborators taking care of hosts and of the nice coral reef next to the hotel. The unique sad experience was the quality of food in the Divers Club restaurant. Our son became sick (vomited + diarrhea during 3 days) a few hours after he had a lunch at the Divers Club restaurant. I was just surpized that we had to pay for the medical consultation conducted in the hotel facility (85 euros) as the sickness of our son was due to one meal of the hotel. Note otherwise our experience in others restaurant of the hotel (Orangerie, Seagull, Al Fresco) were good and without any problem.
Beautiful location, fresh pool sites, delicious food, friendly staff, beautiful coral reefs for snorkeling, horse riding with MANSOUR Horse stable fantastic. The horses of course are desert horses, smaller and strong, the stables are clean and food fresh and good, the horses are well looked after, we went there twice.
I could write a lot of stuff. 4 stars are justified for this resort . While it is located in the middle of nowhere it still manages to keep a high standard. Wonderful beach, superb views. But the food was sometimes a bit off. Don't trust the old and corpulent cook at the Orangerie restaurant! Instead, trust Mahmoud. He is the muscular and slightly taller man who's probably in the middle of his twenties. That cook is the best. By far. And he's also pretty cool and funny. I hope that his manager reads this comment. Or Mahmoud himself. Give this man a raise! And as a guest, try and ask him whether he could be creative and cook something off the menu! I'll never forget that Spaghetti Bolognese with garlic and aubergines :)
I am extremely happy with this visit. Everything was fantastic starting from the friendly staff, location, delicious food. They were very keen on the hygiene and kept every place sanitized. The room was so comfy and clean. One thing you have to do is the city tour, if you are interested in visiting historical places. I will definitely visit again with my friends and family. Thank you to everyone in Movenpick El Quseir. Every place was sanitized all the day around, also the idea of keeping food away from the manual handling by people is great. Samples are shown to people to choose from then the chef will serve them.
As I have said in the title of my review - this hotel is way too much overhyped and overpriced. It has some advantages, but in my opinion does not deserve all the awards and positive ratings. Advantages: + friendly and helpful staff, really fantastic people work in the hotel! + coral shelf easy available for snorkeling + warm water in the pool, likely heated Disadvantages: - this is an old hotel, furniture is old, doors are old, they use old school physical keys (no room cards!) so you end up with single key for the room for a whole family, tv set is more than 15 years old, all equipment is old and you see and feel it, big disappoinment for a premium price hotel! - food is absolutelly terrible, with a few exceptions - totally without any taste especially in the buffet, a'la carte dishes are a bit better, still - big disappointment - internet: coverage is rather ok, but it is very, very slow (3 mbit in peak performance) and sometimes interrupting - insects! incredible amount of flies and mosquitos! and believe me they are not friendly animals! these flies like sitting on you! it is a shame that hotel of this standard does not fight insects in any way! - all inclusive not worth the price - most of drinks not included, even ice creams are not included! in my opinion one of the worst all inclusive packages I have ever seen - small details: water in the shower only warm, definitelly not hot, balcony doors not possible to fully close (they are old and broken!) To sum up: maybe not a totally disaster, but for sure big disappointment. For all the hype, rewards and positive reviews - we expected much, much more from this hotel!
